Sammy Sosa

Sammy Sosa:Former Chicago Cub’s star is back on the news today. Sammy Sosa, whose skin color had been changing to a much lighter shade from a cream he was using, has apparently changed back to a tone much similar to his past appearance. His spokesperson states that Sosa uses a cream that has a bleaching agent in to help even out his skin tone. This topic is what caused quite a stir back in November when he appeared in public with a notably whiter complexion.
Sammy Sosa was born in the Dominican Republic, and continues to live there today. He was an MLB star hitting 609 homeruns in his career. He retired in 2009, and controversy has followed him since he left the major leagues. In 2009 it was reported by the New York Times that Sosa had failed a drug test back in 2004 for performance enhancement.

The latest controversy with Sammy Sosa is over his skin color change. The cream he has been using to even out the skin tone has a bleaching component to it. The lightening of the skin affects each user of the cream differently and with Sosa he had a more noticeable change. His spokesperson also states that the lighting used in the November 2009 photograph made the skin appear even whiter. Sosa apparently is in negotiations to promote and market the skin cream.

Chi Chi Rodriquez: Ex-PGA Golfer Robbed

Chi Chi Rodriquez: Normally when someone is robbed, the last thing they say is “the robbers were gentle”. But, that’s exactly what big time golfer Chi Chi Rodriquez said after being robbed at gunpoint on Wednesday morning. Chi Chi and his wife were at home sleeping at 1:30 this morning when the robbers broke into their home. Chi Chi and his wife lived in El Legado Resort in the southern city of Guayama.
Chi Chi Rodriquez, 74 and his wife were sleeping when three men entered their home. The security guard to the resort was tied up by a fourth man while the other three ransacked the Rodriquez home. One man was said to have a pistol and the others were carrying zip ties and duct tape. The robbers took everything they could carry out including the wedding ring off his wife’s finger.

According to Chi Chi Rodriquez it took the men about 45 minutes to get as much jewelry, cash, and other personal items that they could carry out by hand. Chi Chi calls it the “scariest situation I’ve ever been in” but indeed indicates that the robbers were gentle when tying he and his wife up. Neither Chi Chi or his wife were injured and he does plan to be in South Carolina this weekend for a publicity appearance. No one has been arrested yet in the robbery.
